DESIGNER IN CONTEXT BOOKLET | SPRING 2026
Design in History | Objective: Choose a designer, then create a 5.5" x 8.5" booklet that introduces the selected designer and their work. The goal is to communicate who the designer is, their style, and show it through originally developed designs.
Massimo Vignelli was a famous Italian designer who greatly influenced the design world of corporate America with his constant use and implementation of the grid system. His designs were simple, clean, and consistent, and were always made with the viewer in mind. His design studio, Unimark, is known for its redesign of the New York Subway System, which is still studied in graphic design schools today.

INSPIRATION
For my inspiration, I looked at multiple posters from Massimo Vignelli. I noted his use of big, overlapping, sans-serif type and how he often used bright, bold colors in his designs. I also knew I needed to include the New York subway rebrand somewhere in my booklet, since it was part of his most iconic work.

FINAL LAYOUT
The final layout utilizes type, shape, and point to create a compelling booklet in the style of Massimo Vignelli. All illustrations were originally developed in Illustrator, then transferred over to InDesign.
