HAIKU | SPRING 2026
Design Aesthetics 2 | Objective: Select a haiku poem. Apply the structural principles of visual organization developed in the previous studies, integrate type, graphic elements, and image. Visual representation and interpretation should follow the same principles as haiku. Emphasis is placed on simplicity, intensity, and directness.
PHYSICAL IDEATION
As I started thinking about my haiku project, I imagined that the rhythmic qualities a haiku possesses are very similar to music. My selected haiku was " The notes dance across/ the paper so gracefully/ beautiful music."
DIGITAL ITERATION
While I was iterating, I thought about several different elements I could incorporate, such as the treble clef on the front cover, the metronome visuals across the pages, and the notes and the staff on the final page.
